Flying Fish Arctos

Flying Fish Arctos

Flying Fish Arctos retired after Roy Quaden sadly lost his life on the first night of the race last year.

This yacht is the flagship in the Flying Fish international offshore training fleet. It was originally built for short-handed yachtsman, Don McIntyre, to race around the world and is so sturdily built she’s just the vehicle for the Hobart.

The yacht does very well and her results mentioned here are under PHS:  11th overall in 2023, 14th in 2022 and fifth overall, finishing second in Division 1 in 2021. The Radford 50 placed 12th in the 2019 race after finishing eighth in 2018. Best results include a victory, and winning Division 2, after beating all Division 1 yachts in 2017. The yacht also won PHS in 2010, scored second in 2009 and third in 2012.
