Hutchies Yeah Baby

After completing a World Sailing Speed Record Council sanctioned solo around the world record attempt in 2016, Andy Lamont returned home and to fully crewed racing as the owner/skipper of Hutchies Yeah Baby. He says: “The crew are a lot more fun than the imaginary friends I had while spending 10 months alone at sea.”

Yeah Baby boasts a long and distinguished history in ocean racing, starting life as a Farr 50 in the 90s but had the deck cut off and a new Welbourn-designed hull put under it in 2000. Lamont sailed her to 46^th overall in the 2023 Rolex Sydney Hobart and 67^th the year before.

The yacht did its first Hobart as Audi Sunshine Coast in 2013 but retired. Lamont and his crew are organised and raring to give the 80^th a good go.
