Koa
Koa’s last Sydney Hobart appearance was in 2022 when she retired due to rudder damage on the second morning, ending her race. She placed 10th in the 2025 Noakes Sydney Gold Coast race and sixth in September’s Flinders Islet Race, one of six yachts to finish inside the old race record. Koa also contested the 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 Rolex Sydney Hobarts after Peter Wrigley and Andy Kearnan bought the former Sjambok/Lucky in 2015.
They scored the treble in the 2017 Flinders Islet Race, breaking Loki’s seven-year-old conventional yacht record and have produced some good results in between Hobart races. Now 21 years old, Koa still has what it takes on the race track.
