Maritimo 100
Maritimo 100 contested her first Sydney Hobart last year and finished 12th on PHS. The last Oyster 100 built, she was purchased last year by Maritimo principal, Bill Barry-Cotter.
Although a 100 footer, Maritimo 100 is not a grand prix racer, rather an elegant cruiser that enjoys creature comforts. Barry-Cotter added more luxury to her before the race last year, when his brother Kendall raced alongside him. This year, Kendal’s son Nicholas, joins the crew for his first Hobart. Barry-Cotter had previously last raced to Hobart in 1975 and scored a divisional win with his self-built Carter 33 Ghost, which was then skippered by Kendal in the 1976 race.
He has spent the last few years buying up and refreshing other yachts ahead of entering them in the race, including the likes of Maritimo Katwinchar, which is entered again this year.
