Mistral (DH)
Mistral carries sail No. 1 and mostly finishes in that position. Co-skippered by Frenchman Corentin Douguet in 2024, Rupert Henry finished ninth overall, won Division 4 and the Double Handed division and was 18th over the line in the entire fleet. In 2023, he and Jack Boutell placed an amazing sixth overall, only beaten by yachts ranging from 66 to 100 feet, winning Division 4 and the two-handed division. In 2022, Henry and Greg O’Shea won the Two-Handed division and placed second in Division 4.
Mistral is the double handed benchmark, but Henry’s desire is to win the Sydney Hobart overall. In a history-making first, Henry/O’Shea won the 2022 Cabbage Tree Island Race.
In 2018, they won the double handed 5500nm Melbourne Osaka race in record time (it still stands) on the JV62, Chinese Whisper (Henry’s previous boat). Henry also has a Class 40 yacht, Eora, that he races single and double handed in Europe.
