This is a Performance Cruiser from Queensland that is embracing ocean racing, according to her owner, Ben Shipley. He shares: “The boat is named after my daughters Sky, Hudson, Blake and Madilyn and the word ‘Biri’ draws its heritage from the Worimi. Our crew’s commitment to seamanship is balanced with mateship, humility and fun. We are ready to prove that a smart family cruiser can successfully compete in Australia’s toughest ocean race.”

Shimbiri will certainly withstand tough conditions, she is a beamy, comfortable Hanse 575 from the Judel and Vrolijk stable about to contest her first Sydney Hobart. Apart from racing in home waters, Shimbiri has been seen racing at Hamilton Island Race Week, including this year.
