Supernova

Supernova

Supernova placed 23rd overall and third in Division 4 last year, a best result for Felicity Nelson and Alex Seja with the Sydney 36, after they contested the 2022 and 2023 Rolex Sydney Hobarts. Buying the yacht prior to the 2021 Hobart, Seja and Nelson competed that year, and Nelson won the Jane Tate Memorial Trophy (first female skipper to finish).

It was the perfect way to mark her milestone 25th Hobart - she was only the second female in race’s history to make the ’25 Hobarts’ board behind Adrienne Cahalan. Nelson was joined there in 2022 by Vanessa Dudley. Prior to buying Supernova, Seja and Nelson sailed the race on other peoples’ yachts; Nelson doing a dozen of her 28 on John Walker’s Impeccable. The couple spend a lot of time competing in other races and regattas and cruising.
