Toucan (DH)

Toucan (DH)

Edward Curry-Hyde and Toucan did their first Sydney Hobart last year, co-skippered by Scott Robinson, also on his first. They placed fifth in the Double Handed Division and third in IRC Corinthian. With Billy Sykes co-skippering, Curry-Hyde scored fourth overall to win Division 3 and the Double Handed division in the 2025 Noakes Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race.

Toucan was purposefully set up for double handed racing by her owner, who last year returned to offshore racing after sailing skiffs and Lasers. Curry-Hyde admitted he was thrown in the deep end in his first Sydney Hobart - but he’s back for more! The scientist and academic has been wise in his choice of co-skipper, Lincoln Dews, a fit 30-year-old from a family of water fanatics, who has grown up through sailing, surf life-saving and stand up paddle boarding.
