URM Group
Devastation for the Johnston brothers, as URM Group, one of the race favourites, was the fourth boat to retire last year after dismasting near Montague Island.
The year before that, in a thrilling finish, URM finished third behind LawConnect and Andoo Comanche in Line Honours but was narrowly beaten by Alive for the Overall title. That second place overall helped her claim the CYCA's Audi Centre Sydney Blue Water Poinstcore, a series she had finished second in the previous year.
URM Group also claimed Line Honours and broke her own record in both the 2024 and 2025 Flinders Islet Race This R/P 72 was originally Neville Crichton’s Shockwave and prior to the Johnstons buying and racing her in 2019, she only raced overseas where she won many races. The Johnstons aren’t done and she is a race favourite again this year.
