Wild Thing 100

Wild Thing 100 scored a trio of thirds last year - over the line, overall and in Division 0, with the short rig still in the boat. In May, Wild Oats XI’s second rig was and new sails from Kiwi Rodney Keenan added.

This year the competition will step up, with LawConnect, SHK Scallywag, Master Lock Comanche, Palm Beach XI (ex-Wild Oats XI), not to mention 88ft Lucky looking for Line Honours. Before the new rig went in, Wild Thing took Line Honours in the 2024 Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race and the inaugural Gold Coast Mackay Yacht Race, setting the record.

The yacht did five Rolex Sydney Hobarts as an 80 footer, in 2022 as Stefan Racing and before that as Beau Geste. ‘Wharo’s colourful boat is co-owned by Adrian Seiffert.
