Wine-Dark Sea is gearing up for what Lowndes calls their first “Hamo-to-Hobart" campaign, marking a new chapter in her 15-year history with Peter Lowndes. In addition to the Hobart, she is also contesting the Audi Centre Sydney Blue Water Pointscore.

Lowndes even pointed out that “we might even shed our solar panels to give the race a red-hot go.” Launched as Strewth, the Australian-designed yacht has a rich offshore pedigree, including multiple classic races in Asia and the UK.

Locally, she has been a regular in CYCA offshore events and has recently been upgraded with a new carbon fibre rig, ensuring she is ready to take on the 80th Rolex Sydney Hobart.
