Wots Next

Charles Cupit skippered Wot’s Next to 49^th overall last year and returns for the 80^th race. Prior to 2024, his last races to Hobart were in 2018 and 2019. Cupit bought the Sydney 47 in 2016, returning to Sydney from Tasmania, and retired from the 2016 Hobart with damage.

In the past, he has also contested the CYCA Trophy Series with Wot’s Next and did the 2024 Pittwater to Coffs and 2025 Noakes Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race. The boat also raced in the Rolex Sydney Hobart in 2007 when owned by Graeme Wood. It was skippered by Bill Sykes (Wood raced his updated yacht), who took a crew of mainly CYCA Youth Academy sailors and finished 34^th overall.

Sykes took a similar crew the previous year, placing 37^th.
