Weather

Start was in a Nor'easter which freshened during the afternoon.  Strong SSW gale on the second day out of Sydney followed by strong Southerlies behind the front which built to strong gale to storm strength and lasted 36 hours. The winds scattered the fleet and all except Rani hove to or sought shelter.  It was calm later although some boats experienced a strong gale in Storm Bay and River Derwent.
