Profile
Metung is a town on the Gippsland Lakes in Victoria where this yacht was built and from which she takes her name. Built to a design by Alan Payne in 1957, she raced for the first time that year, taking out a fifth place. Last year her designer skippered her to Hobart but only succeeded in coming in eleventh, this being partly due to a gamble for winds on the more outside course that did not pay off. Such are the vagaries of the Hobart course. Ketch rigged with a dark blue hull she will be easily recognised.
