Destiny II is a sister ship to Boomerang VII who last year came second in the race. Designed by Peter Joubert, of Melbourne, she is of composite ply and fibreglass construction instead of the more radical foam sandwich construction of her elder sister.
Extremely light and of small displacement she could well be among the leaders both on elapsed time and handicap.
