a steel sloop from the board of E G Van der Stadt, Utiekah IV is owned by Mr and Mrs P C Fowler of Hobart. She was launched in 1969, sailing her first Hobart race that year. While in a good position she struck a whale and was forced to retire through structural damage. She also sailed in the 1970 race and makes a reappearance this year after having had her keel deepened to improve stability
