A Swanson half-tonner, Merinda is a fibreglass production yacht built by Taylor Plastics in 1974. Sailing out of Royal Brighton Yacht Club, Merinda competed in last year's Hobart race finishing 4th in division and 35th overall. The skipper is experienced in Victorian ocean racing and could improve on last year's performance, his first Hobart appearance.
