One of Australia's best-known and fastest offshore racers, Helsal II of Our Town Newcastle is now under charter to Fred Williams from Newcastle backed by a very experienced crew, including previous race winners John Pickles, Albert Mitchell and Alby Burgin. Helsal II recently demolished the Montague Island Race record by over 6 hours, and with following or reaching breezes of moderate strength should be one of the prime contenders for line honours.
