This 70-footer was launched in 1981 to a design by the South African Angelo Lavranos. She has competed in the Cape Town to Uruguay and Los Angeles-Hawaii races. In the 1982 Hobart she was 5th home. She has a stunning performance downwind, tracking like a rocket in heavy breezes that leave most yachts broaching. Second over the line after Apollo in the Southport Race last August, she led the fleet on the first evening last year but then lost out significantly on the windward work.
