Launched by a syndicate in 1981 as a contender for the Australian Admirals Cup team, Inch by Winch failed to impress at the team trials, but has since been a regular entrant in passage races from the east coast under Joe Goddard, usually served by the same experienced crew of family and friends. Has had her share of successes, but not in the Sydney Hobart Race.
