John Eyles won the galewept 1984 Sydney Hobart with his previous boat of the same name. He did not do as well in the 1986 race with the new Indian Pacific but her sister ship, Ex Tension was the overall winner and Indian Pacific must be one of the top contenders.
For this 1987 race, she is racing under the name of Pemberton 1.
