One of only two maxi yachts in the fleet, the other being Windward Passage II this latest in a long line of Ragamuffins owned by Syd Fischer took line honours in her first race to Hobart in 1979, then named Bumblebee 4. Last year Fischer raced Ragamuffin to the Hobart as Gazebo, finishing a luckless 2nd across the line and 3rd overall on corrected time. Owner Fischer has a long career as one of Australia's leading ocean racing yachtsmen, but has not won a Hobart race either across the line or on handicap.
