Winner of the 1988 Sydney Hobart race at her first start, Illusion has followed that success by victories in the prestigious 1989 Petersville Regatta, the Association cup (first individual yacht), the ORCV's Winter Series and the ORCV's Portsea to Hastings race. Owner/skipper Gino Knezic has been named Nor Tel Australian Ocean Racing Yachtsman of the Year and Victorian Yachtsman of the Year.
