Gary Appleby was chosen as 1987 – 88 Australian Ocean Racer of the Year for his successes with this boat, which included representing Australia in the 1987 Admiral's Cup, 1987 Southern Cross Cup and 1988 Kenwood Cup, the team winning in Sydney and Hawaii.
