Under previous ownerships the former Challenge II won the 1983 Sydney Hobart overall and again under IMS in 1989. The yacht is currently the home of the owners and two children, and consequently the new nickname for the yacht is ' the house'.  Ryan has plenty of experience having raced in nine Sydney Hobart races, most of the east coast races and was sailing master aboard Anaconda II for the '79 Parmelia Race.
