This is a sister ship to Utopia which competed and finished last year Sydney Hobart, and Pains Wessex has experienced some of the worst condition Melbourne has on offer, including the last Melbourne Hobart, suffering no structural damage during the past 6 years of racing. Results of note were 4th overall in '88, '89 and '90 Melbourne Hobart and 3rd overall in '91 and '92.
