Launched in December last year, Breakaway competed in her first race, the Maria Island Race then onto the Sydney Hobart. She was 6th Tasmanian boat home and finished 14th overall in Division. Wayne Banks-Smith says they will improve their results this year. David Lyon's designed, Breakaway won the '94 Australian Yacht of the Year Award in the '94 Optus Yacht of the Year Award.
