Ocean Skins is a timber-hulled sistership to Grant Wharington’s first Wild Thing and this the second year of campaigning the boat by her present owner. Recently they contested the inaugural Melbourne to Vanuatu Race (finished 5th on PHS) and were leading the Vanuatu to Mackay leg on handicap when they struck a whale and retired with rudder and keel damage. Finished 6th on PHS in last year’s Rolex Sydney Hobart.
