Media commentator Paul Clitheroe will be skippering his Sydney 47 Balance to Hobart again in 2008. Balance is having a good year on the water and after three of the seven ocean races that make up the Blue Water Pointscore Series (Rolex Sydney Hobart is a race in this series), she is currently second overall with strong results in the first three races.

Rather to Paul’s surprise, given his well publicized view that a yacht is the worst investment on the planet, 2007/08 has been a most unusual one as his boat is struggling to depreciate in value as rapidly as his share and property portfolio. This has elevated the status of the boat quite considerably and Paul is looking forward to sailing one of his least worst performing investments to Hobart on Boxing Day.
