Owner Trevor Taylor is an experienced offshore racing skipper, including winning the Siska Trophy as WA Offshore Champion, and returns to the Rolex Sydney Hobart after a two year break.  In the 2008 race, Optimus Prime placed sixth in IRC Division 2 and a respectable 24th overall.  Other impressive results include: a fastest time and second overall in the Fremantle to Carnarvon Race, first and fastest in the first leg of the Valmadre Series and first and fastest in the Dolphin Race, the first leg of the Farrawa Cup.  Along with Knee Deep, Optimus Prime sailed from Fremantle early in December, making her away across the Great Australian Bite and on to Sydney to get ready for this year’s race.
