Imalizard is owned by Short Handed Sailing Association of Australia committee member Bruce Watson. It was purpose built for the two handed Melbourne Osaka Race and is water ballasted. Under previous ownership, it was sailed single-handed around Australia and since then has been raced in SSAA competitions and two handed in the 2016 Coffs Harbour race. For the 2016 Sydney Hobart, Imalizard’s first, French solo sailors will be joining the usual two-handed crew of Bruce Watson and Michelle Gilfoyle.
