In Mayfair and James Irvine’s first Hobart in 2015, they finished ninth overall and fourth in Division 4 and third in ORCi Division 3. Started the slow 2016 Sydney Gold Coast race, but joining a few others, retired citing time constraints. Finished sixth overall in Division 2 of the 2017 Brisbane Gladstone race and 10^th overall in the subsequent Brisbane Keppel race. Mayfair is the former ‘Take Flight’, purchased by Irvine, who has again put together an experienced, but colourful crew of local characters, who obviously know their stuff. The Beneteau First 40 finished 12^th overall in the 2014 Brisbane to Keppel Yacht Race, her first blue outing under Irvine’s leadership. Will have sisterships Ariel, Blunderbuss to spar with. Ian ‘Ox’ Davis will celebrate his 26^th Hobart with son Ben in the navigator’s chair.
