The last time Peter Davison’s Arcadia came to the Rolex Sydney Hobart was 2023 and it ended poorly when they were forced out early on the first evening with sail damage. Melburnian Davis and crew were previously here for the 2018 and 2019 Rolex Sydney Hobarts. The Archambault 40 racer/cruiser has enjoyed success in Ocean Racing Club of Victoria events since undergoing a thorough overhaul and upgrade in 2016.
She won the 2017 Melbourne to Hobart overall and placed third in the 2024 King Island Race. Great results culminated in Davison being named 2021 Victorian Offshore Sailor of the Year: “There’s a whole team of people who’ve been part of Arcadia’s 2021 offshore campaign. Obviously, I couldn’t have done any of this without my offshore crew. Then there’s my bay sailors who help keep Arcadia sailing at peak in between,” he said.
