Blue Planet, a J/99, was commissioned by Chris O’Neill and launched in mid-October 2022. Her first race was the 2022 Sydney Hobart. Results in 2024 include winning the Double Handed division in the Tollgate Islands Race, winning Division 2, the Corinthian Division and placing second in Division 3 of the Noakes Sydney Gold Coast Race and placing second in the Double Handed Coastal Rally.

Blue Planet was one of the many retirees in last year’s Rolex Sydney Hobart, but in the 2023 race, O’Neill sailed double-handed with Michael Johnston to sixth in the Double Handed division, having sailed the yacht in the 2022 race with Larry Jamieson.
