Profile

Indy Beck joins his dad in the race for the first time having turned 18 and Christian Beck’s wife, Rachel, rejoins the crew after a two-year break.

LawConnect answered her critics again last year, taking Line Honours for the second year running and placing second overall. In the light air (not to her liking) 2023 Hobart, she claimed Line Honours from Andoo Comanche by 51 seconds as a thriller played out on the River Derwent in front of the crowds. It was the second closest finish in the race’s history and a third Line Honours victory for the Juan K design – her first was 2016 as Perpetual LOYAL, when owned by Anthony Bell, who also broke the race record after buying the former Speedboat/Rambler.

In 2022, LawConnect was second over the line, 26 minutes behind Andoo Comanche and in 2019, known as InfoTrack, finished second again, 44 minutes astern of Comanche, after a five-way 100 footer battle to Hobart.
