Profile
Peter Elkington and Scott Cavanough took Pacman to second in Division 3 and third in double handed in 2022, then retired from the 2023 Rolex Sydney Hobart with runner damage. In 2024, they finished seventh in the double handed division. These two talented yachties are capable of winning, as both have proved separately in the past.
Before sailing the Hobart two-handed with Cavanough, Elkington, an engineer and respected navigator, did his previous three Hobarts on Envy Scooters from 2017 to 2019, with a best result of sixth overall, after racing in Peter Harburg’s successful Black Jack team. Cavanough has solid shorthanded sailing credibility, including winning the 2014 Two Handed Class 40 Global Ocean Race. Added to that, Pacman, a Young 11, is a good all-round performer.
