Roaring Forty is a one-off 1997 Lutra BOC Open 40 bought by Kevin Le Poidevin in 2017. He competed the 2023-24 Global Solo Challenge and then sailed her to 10th in the RSHYR Double Handed Division last year. The Sydney Hobart was used as a qualifier for the 2025 double handed Melbourne to Osaka race, in which he finished 12th with crew Darrell Greig.


Roaring Forty finished third over the line and second overall in the 2007 Rolex Middle Sea Race plus first in the Solo division of the 2008-09 Global Ocean Race under previous owner Michel Kleinjans (BEL).

Le Poidevin sails to support Brain Tumour Alliance Australia and Soldier On under the banner of Aviator Ocean Racing.
