Profile
Roaring Forty is a one-off 1997 Lutra BOC Open 40 bought by Kevin Le Poidevin in 2017. He sailed her to 10th in the Double Handed Division last year. The race was used as a test for the 2025 double handed Melbourne to Osaka race, in which he finished 12th with crew Darrell Greig.
He also finished third over the line and second overall in the 2007 Rolex Middle Sea Race plus first in the Solo division of the 2008-09 Global Ocean Race. Le Poidevin spent 31 years in the military, which has given him a great many skills needed for short-handed sailing, including efficiency and a vast knowledge of sailing.
