Profile

A major blow for SHK Scallywag, a broken bowsprit (as happened in 2018) early in the 2023 Hobart ended the race for her. She then left for Europe and took 2024 Middle Sea Race Line Honours. In 2019 she took Line Honours in the Antigua Bermuda and Transatlantic races.

In 2016, Scallywag was one of a trio to break Wild Oats XI’s standing 2012 Hobart record. She scorched FfreeFire’s 2001 San Fernando record and won overall. Seng Huang Lee bought the former Ragamuffin from Syd Fischer in 2016 and broke the Groupama Race monohull record that year, then smashed Beau Geste’s (TP52) Hong Kong to Hainan record.

As Ragamuffin, she took Line Honours and broke the 2015 Hong Kong Vietnam Race record that Fischer had set with Ragamuffin 90. The yacht’s hull was designed by Andy Dovell, but her modified deck is that of Investec LOYAL.
