Tasmania’s John Lawrie took Tenacity in her second Rolex Sydney Hobart last year after debuting in 2023. Along the way, he raises money for the Kids Cancer Project in Sydney and in Hobart, courtesy of crew and friend, Tony Kirby, who celebrates 16 years supporting his favourite charity.

Look for the bears at Tenacity and other supporting competitors at the Sydney and Hobart marinas and drop donations in the bears’ money tins.

Kirby is also celebrating a milestone 40^th race this year. Lawrie purchased this Mills 41 yacht from Malaysia where she achieved great results as Ambush. He bought it because it’s a great offshore boat and specifically with the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race in mind.
