Profile
Unicoin is named for the cryptocurrency company, but was originally Assassin, when launched as an IMS Farr 40 One-Off for Robin Crawford in time for the 1992 Sydney Hobart which she co-won with IOR winner, Ragamuffin (winners were declared under IMS and IOR rules at the time). Now owner, Peter Bremner and his Sailing Master, Andrew Buckland, were aboard for the yacht’s Hobart win.
“She’s back to her former glory,” Bremner says. Unicoin is contesting the CYCA’s Audi Centre Sydney BWPS, of which the Hobart is the climax. Bremner took possession of Unicoin in February 2024 and commenced a full refurbishment for IRC racing, including a new layout, carbon fibre mast and a dark grey paint job, as opposed to the old bluey green.
Unfortunately, the clock beat Bremner, so Unicoin just missed last year’s race.
