Hugh Ellis returns to the Rolex Sydney Hobart with the J/65 Burning Palms. Ellis made his mark in 2018, when his Reichel/Pugh 63 Voodoo finished third Overall and won IRC Division 1, months after his crew sailed her home from San Diego via Tahiti and Fiji. Before that he campaigned a Cookson 12, also named Voodoo. Burning Palms was previously owned by two-handed specialist Rupert Henry, while Henry’s entry in this year’s Hobart, Mistral, was formerly owned by Ellis.
