Matt Hanning’s love of sailing began in Hong Kong and it wasn’t long before he purchased a Ker 40 he named Signal 8. After gaining experience in Asia, Hanning took on the Commodore’s Cup in the UK. Arriving back in Sydney, he bought a Sydney 36 cruiser/racer named Supernova (now owned by Alex Seja and Felicity Nelson who are also doing the Hobart), before buying luxury cruiser/racer Odin. Odin was 21st over the line and fifth in IRC Division 2 in the 2024 Sydney Hobart.
