Matt Fahey's Sydney 38 Faster Forward returns to the Rolex Sydney Hobart for the first time since 2019, when she was one of only three retirements due to rudder bearing failure. Based at the Royal Yacht Club of Victoria in Williamstown, she has since starred in the Melbourne to Hobart Westcoaster, winning overall in 2021 and finishing second on AMS in 2025, Fahey's ninth overall and sixth as skipper. A latecomer who took up sailing at 36, Fahey has also raced four Rolex Fastnets and five Rolex Sydney Hobarts, prior to 2019. Originally John Winning's Yandoo, the boat raced to Hobart as Lexar (2004), Getaway Sailing 2 (2007, 2008) and Deloitte as One (2011).
